Folding World

Folding World is a series of illustrations based on recreating the fictional worlds of four artists. Each draw condenses elements or episodes from these artists’ work into a building, which is a visual representation of each artist’s worldview. Each artist values how their characters interact with each other and within their worlds. To interpret their worlds, I constructed spaces and included details and objects from each unique story thereby enhancing their uniqueness. The four artists are Edgar Allan Poe, an American writer. Write many horror stories. Agatha Christie, A British Writer, Wrote many detective novels. Utagawa Kuniyoshi, A Japanese Ukiyo-e Artist, Can draw traditional Japanese mythology and cute cats. Eileen Chang, a Chinese-American writer. Obsessed with love stories.
